The Hayes Preschool​

The Hayes School preschool is a Christian, outdoor, play-based learning environment. Play-based learning is child-led and open-ended, allowing children to explore their interests and express themselves in a supportive setting. At Hayes School, we prioritize giving children the time and freedom to choose their activities and methods of play, fostering an atmosphere where curiosity and creativity can flourish.

By emphasizing outdoor play, we provide children with rich sensory experiences and opportunities for physical activity that are vital for their development. Our thoughtfully designed space encourage exploration, helping children connect with the world around them. This connection enhances their understanding of nature and promotes environmental stewardship.

Our emergent curriculum integrates age-appropriate Christian values, nurturing kindness, empathy, and a sense of community. We believe that these principles help children build strong moral foundations as they learn to collaborate and respect one another.

Through guided play and intentional interactions, our teachers facilitate learning moments that inspire problem-solving, critical thinking, and social skills. At the Hayes School, we are dedicated to creating a joyful and engaging environment where children can develop holistically, cultivating a lifelong love for learning and a strong sense of self.

The Hayes Cottage​

The Hayes Cottage is a private elementary school for children ages 5-9. This class is led by a certified teacher, ensuring a high-quality education while fostering a nurturing environment. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, we provide a smaller, more individualized learning experience that encourages curiosity and creativity.

Our Cottage engages learners by incorporating hands-on activities and tailored lesson plans that meet students where they are in their educational journey. We focus on developing essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth, promoting a holistic approach to learning. Through a blend of structured and exploratory learning opportunities, children are inspired to develop a love for learning and to build confidence in their abilities.

Our supportive community encourages collaboration and friendship, creating a safe space for every child to thrive. At the Hayes Cottage, we believe in nurturing each child’s unique potential and fostering a lifelong love for learning.

 

The Hayes School is an outdoor school from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

We are located in the children's wing of Hackberry Creek Church for the 2024-2025 school year.
